With homeowners insurance costs skyrocketing lately, more folks are considering forgoing coverage to save money. According to the nonprofit Insurance Information Institute (III), 88% of homeowners this year are covered, but that figure has dropped from upwards of 95% just a few years ago. Home insurance prices nationwide spiked about 20% this year alone according to recent estimates.
