$$$$$ (5 out of 5 Dollar Signs = Worth the Price of the Ticket)
I don’t need an excuse to go see an animated movie without a child. The child in me is enough and we both enjoyed the plot and most of all the music!
The fun of the animation captures the child’s attention and the infusion of old school and new school music captivates the adults. Who knew that songs from Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Scarlet Johansson and Jennifer Hudson would work so beautifully in one movie.
Most of you don’t know that I was a musician in my former life. Yes, I was an R&B Band Lead Vocalist. And this movie made me want to find a stage and rock the mic again.
Even the plot, although somewhat predictable, had a lesson for both the Child and the Child-like Adult to “follow your passion and never ever give up.” Oh yeah, sometimes strangers become the best support system when working towards the same goal.
It is a must See (with a little one or by yourself). Aww heck take a few of your childish friends and have a ball.
