Looks like Jay-Z officially beat Dr. Dre (netting a little over $800,000 after his multi-billion dollar with Apple) to be the first rapper to become a Billionaire.
According to Forbes, Jay-Z’s fortune “conservatory totals $1 billion, making him one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire – and the first hip-hop artist to do so.”
Jay-Z proves that diversification is the key to financial success. Here’s the math:
$310 million: Armand de Brignac (Champagne Company)
$220 million: Cash & Investments
$100 million: D’Usse (Cognac Company)
$100 million: Tidal (Music Streaming Company)
$75 million: Roc Nation (Entertainment Management Company)
$75 million: Music Catalog
$70 million: Art Collection
$50 million: Real Estate
$1,000,000 Total
The Madam Money Team saw this coming as Jay-Z’s money mentor is billionaire Warren Buffet.
“Jay is teaching in a lot bigger classroom than I’ll ever teach in. For a young person growing up, he’s the guy to learn from,” shared Buffet.
Kudos to HOV for setting an excellent example of how a kid from the projects can attain wealth and build a legacy.
